Nikkei edges higher, China rate hike taken in stride

TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average edged 0.3 percent higher on Monday with increased appetite toward global equities in recent weeks lending support and helping offset any concerns from China's raising of interest rates on the weekend.
The benchmark Nikkei rose 0.3 percent or 32.55 points to 10,310.85.
The broader Topix index was 0.1 percent higher at 902.52.
